Prayer During The Pandemic

O Rock and our Redeemer, As a child runs to the parent for safety, we come running to you, O Lord during these times of confusion, fear for life and every day challenges. Please hear our humble prayer. We are seeking refuge under Your hands and cry before You for our lives. We are surrounded by death. We are in fear of death. This unknown vicious contagion has pre-occupied all our doing and being. We have everything as a modern society. Yet we can do nothing. We come before you at this time for those who are afflicted with Coronavirus infirmity. Many victims are drowning in their own lungs. Kyrie Eleison. World around us look like Lake Michigan when it is frozen. Countless people are unemployed. Volatility is a new synonym of global economy. Hopelessness is what we breath in the air. Yet, we are grateful that you are helping us to re-learn in this situation. Human-bonding is a gift of God. We long for it more than ever during this time of social distancing. Our inequality of status, class, caste, color, gender and creed are all time low by COVID -19 because we are all equally looking to survive and support each other. We come to the realistic realization that essential workers and hourly workers are the " heroes" of our societal fabric who actually make elites and intellects thrive. This is a humbling experience to reset our pride, arrogance and selfishness. Thank you for the reminder, O Lord. This helps us to re-align our life priorities. This experience reminds us to make a "note to self " that we are all God's image bearers. Thank you, Lord even though we walk through the valley of darkness, You are with us. Your staff and rod, they comfort us because you Love us. ( Pslam 23: 4) Being your image bearers, have mercy on us. Listen to our cry. Hear our prayer. Forgive our individual and communal sins. Lord in your mercy. Hear our prayer. You are our ultimate hope. You alone can find a direction even if it is a dead-end. Whenever we pick up a Petotskey stone on the shores of Camp Arcadia and marvel at its intricate designs, Help us not to be silent spectators of our faith but to be radical disciples crying out "Hosanna" even though the church Pharisaic have been trying to silence us. (Luke 19:39) To you we cry - O Lord, please save us from sin, death and devil. You take our struggles as your own, suffering for us so that we are safe, dying for us so that we can live. You rising again gives us a strength of eagles wings to rise up, cry out and shout that NOTHING can separate us from the LOVE of Christ. Thank you Lord, for giving us courage, strength and boldness to face every day challenges and opportunities in season and out of season of our lives. This too shall pass. Coronavirus will be defeated. Curve will be flattened. Social distancing will be absent. Our God reigns. He is not here . He is Risen indeed. Alleluia. We boldly ask these prayers through your Jesus Christ the Crucified and Risen One, Your Son, Our Lord. who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit One God now and forever. Amen.
